Director, Alejandro Relling
Dr. Relling is an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Science. His research focuses on developmental nutrition, particularly how different nutrients fed during gestation to pregnant cows and sheep impact in the efficiency of the offspring. He also has an interest in feeding and roughage management.
Associate Director, Rachel Kopec
Dr. Kopec is an Associate Professor of Human Nutrition in the Department of Human Sciences. Her research leverages advanced analytical chemistry techniques to study dietary bioactive interactions, especially those occurring in the gastrointestinal tract and in the brain. They also identify novel pathways of metabolism and excretion. Ultimately, a better understanding of the role these bioactives play at multiple levels of biology is essential to establish evidence for “precision” nutrition recommendations.
